In an official statement, they stated: “This evening, in the Bongaon police station area, a mentally unstable individual, in a fit of rage, attacked four people with a knife. The police immediately arrived at the scene and arrested the accused. Subsequently, an agitated mob gathered at the police station, attempting to seize the accused from custody and vandalize the reception desk. The police swiftly dispersed the crowd and arrested ten individuals involved in the unrest. Operations are underway to apprehend others involved in the attempted violence at the station. The four injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment. The situation is under control, and there is no communal angle to the incident.
